In the middle of the regional natural park of Périgord-Limousin, close to Saint-Estephe

with its large lakeside leisure centre, this old XVII century mill is bordered by forest charm.

It’s a very “British” lodging place belonging to Tracy Wood.

You’ll be able to join in the social mix there which includes fair game and fowl gambling freely in the garden

with roe-deer, wild boar, hare and kingfishers.

Within the Charente, just over the border from the Périgord Limousin regional nature park, the camp site is classified

as “exceptional” by the Charente Nature Association. You will have access here to all on site activities (see www.lechambon.org).
The local nightingales will serenade your evenings. The song of crickets will accompany your picnic, or as you wander through

the cow meadows, you can cast your eyes over a juicy fresh steak.

Here also you can try your hand at trout fishing on the Tardoire river that skirts the site.
Classified as a Natura 2000 site – as a “camp-site of quality” and “green” Prize winner - Certified “European- écolabel”.

This residential study centre is available virtually next door.
It’s a base for visitors wishing to discover the cultural inheritance of the Périgord and Limousin region.
CPIE the acronym means: Centre Permanent d' Initiatives pour l' Environment. It was set up in 2001
The organisation seeks to develop and transmit its knowledge of environmental values to all people foreign and domestic,
to sensitise and educate, while participating in the management of the environment and promoting the valorisation
of the region’s cultural inheritance by proposing tourism and adventure leisure activities.

was born in 1998 through the will of the local people and their mobilization of elected officials.
